How many family members are harmed when the human rights of gay people are violated?

There are 7 billion people on Earth.

If for instance, 5% are gay - that's 350 million, plus their parents (700 million), plus if each gay kid has on average one sibling (350 million), and each gay kid has four grandparents (1.4 billion), for a total of 2.8 billion family members impacted. Plus there are even more aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.

In any event, more than a third of the world's population!

In any country, more than a third of the nation's population!

Each gay kid has eight great grandparents, meaning more than two-thirds of the world's population has or will have a gay family member.

"Bear in mind this sacred principle,
that though the will of the majority
is in all cases to prevail,
that will to be rightful must be reasonable;
that the minority possess their equal rights,
which equal law must protect,
and to violate would be oppression."

- Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826) US Founding Father who drafted the Declaration of Independence, 3rd US President speaking at his First Inaugural Address in 1801

"Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide."

- John Adams (1735-1826), US Founding Father, 1st US Vice-President, 2nd US President

"Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves; and, under a just God, can not long retain it."

"I leave you, hoping that the lamp of liberty will burn in your bosoms until there shall no longer be a doubt that all men are created free and equal."

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

- Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865), 16th US President

If your human rights or the human rights of your family, friends and neighbors are written out of a constitution, then that constitution is no longer your constitution.

- Why Nations and the Rule of Law Collapse
Never forget the gay children who have died. No matter where you live in the United States, you can get involved in the battle for human rights protection, the birthright of every American - gay and straight. Remember, whenever the human rights of any person are discarded, diminished or denied by any government, the human rights of all are endangered. You can make a tremendous difference by helping to enforce human rights and punish top violators - there are essentially 62,993 genocidal individuals in the USA responsible for 95% of the human rights violations against tens of millions of our people. Somewhere along the way they convinced themselves they could violate the human rights of millions of people and get away with it. They have not convinced the people they have harmed, so their actions are pyrrhic.

The latest tactic is to use a proclamation of "religious freedom" to harm others in the name of religion - overwhelmingly in the name of Middle East religions - as though only those who follow specific versions of certain religions have so-called religious freedom. So if religious freedom applies, then according to ancient religion, LGBT people are the gatekeepers between the heavens and the earth, maintaining the balance. Any harm to LGBT people is an offense to the heavens. Also, re-marriage under these Middle East religions is punishable by death as adultery since divorce is not permitted under these religions, and yet only when gay couples are provided marriage equality do these speciously named "religious liberty" proclamations suddenly manifest. No one fails to record the self-evident religious hypocrisy, corruption, and bigotry of politicians who line their pockets with blood money given by groups that make money off pursuing these proclamations into law. Since these laws are a backhanded way to empower the denial of such basics as lifesaving water, food, and medicine, those politicians passing such laws are guilty of violating the third provision of acts considered genocide - ending the rule of law in any such region.

In a self-defeating move, North Carolina (Former Governor McCrory and 106 legislators) passed a state law that makes it lawful to discriminate against government officials and their families (and everyone else) based on sexual orientation and gender identity - meaning it is now legal, for example, to deny politicians and their families goods and services based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The logic of such a move is baffling and strange. So anyone in North Carolina can now legally refuse the former governor, the legislators, and their families goods and services at any time based on sexual orientation and gender identity (regardless of who they are). The speciously-named "repeal" of this bad law (under Governor Cooper) simply continues this discrimination under the very law meant to "repeal" it, as if people are naive enough to fall for such a sham "repeal" that instead targets people for the same ongoing discrimination. Tennessee and Arkansas politicians have unleashed similar legislation that permits government officials and their families to be discriminated against legally by the public. Police officers, firefighters, military personnel, judges, and other government officials have been swept into this betrayal of their human rights by these self-professed genocidal state politicians. North Carolina politicians also put language into the law removing the ability for residents to sue in state court for employment discrimination based on race, religion, gender, ethnicity, et al. Ironically it is also lawful to discriminate against government officials and their families in states such as Mississippi where the state government is guilty of genocide.

Flawed reasoning is apparent. Attempting to pit religious rights of one group against the sexual orientation rights of another is flawed on its face. All people have religious rights and sexual orientation rights. Attempting to use religion to deprive heterosexuals of their sexual orientation rights would be no less flawed and would be an attack on those heterosexuals' religious rights. Attempting to use religion to deprive gay people of their sexual orientation rights is likewise an attack on the religious rights of the targets. The whole flawed argument is that the religious rights of one group are allowed to harm the religious rights of another by merely trying to disguise it as religious rights vs. sexual orientation rights. Those wishing their religion to override everything else and placing them above having to provide equity to others while yet receiving their own equity are guilty of religious discrimination against their targets.

It is important to remember that gay people are the family of straight people, beginning with their parents, four grandparents and eight great grandparents. That is fourteen heterosexuals related to one gay child. Then include siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, great aunts and great uncles. That's even more straight relatives impacted when the human rights of a gay family member are violated.

If you are heterosexual, there is a very good chance you will have a gay family member - a gay child, grandchild, great grandchild, niece, nephew, great niece, great nephew, or other member of your family. When you hold that newborn baby in your arms and look into their eyes, will you have done everything necessary to defend your family from discrimination and to protect their human rights?

Families are stronger when human rights are protected. Millions of gay and straight family members benefit when leaders uphold equality, while millions of gay and straight family members suffer when corrupt leaders fail to protect human rights so they can line their pockets with money and advance their political ambitions at the expense of other people's families.

Family is very important, which is why ending mass human rights violations against family members is extremely important for everyone. Speak with the families of politicians and religious leaders who are responsible to find out what is required to get them to stop violating the human rights of 200 million+ lesbian, gay, bi, transgender, and straight family members in the USA. Remember to make LGBT and Allied events inclusive by inviting the families of all politicians to attend (they need other people to uphold their human rights). For instance, invite the children and grandchildren of all politicians (especially politicians who have yet to uphold the human rights of other Americans) to attend LGBT and Allied Youth summits and conferences to be guests to talk about the importance of human rights for everyone, to exchange experiences about growing up in America, and to work together towards better human rights protection for all American family members regardless of gender and sexual orientation.

No family member should have to endure the daily pain and suffering inflicted by these on-going human rights violations against their family - let alone 200 million+ family members. Help protect your family from discrimination.

BACKGROUND: It is the year 2021. The Founders' dream of the future of the United States was that democracy would fall apart because the majority of the public or elected officials would inevitably mutate constitutions and laws into tyranny and oppression rather than liberty and justice for all. Many corrupt government officials continue their genocidal actions harming millions of Americans while the pillars of democracy have fallen apart in a lot of the USA, just as the original Founders said they would. Every politician who fails to uphold millions of other people's human rights needs the people they have harmed to uphold the human rights those politicians care most about in this world, and no politician who violates human rights has ever explained why their victims have any rational reason to do so.

The crucial nature of Equal Protection under Law as an irreplaceable requirement of justice, fairness, the rule of law, and democracy is expressed with a quote of James Bovard: "Democracy has to be more than two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner." By definition, a minority group including a minority of one - an individual, yourself included - can never outnumber and thus never outvote the majority group. Any two people outnumber you as an individual and can outvote you to take away your rights. Any two people who dislike you automatically outnumber you and can therefore always outvote you to craft constitutions and laws to only serve them rather than treating you equally. That is why the only thing sustaining the rule of law is the vital and fundamental elements of democracy such as Equal Protection under Law. None of the individuals who have voted to end Equal Protection under Law can outvote two or more of the people they have harmed, so would those individuals accept it if two or more people they harmed simply voted to violate their human rights? Of course, not. That is why Equal Protection under Law is required to maintain the rule of law, justice, fairness, and democracy.

No rational person upholds any constitution or law that excludes them, their family or their friends, much less one that also violates their human rights. It is now the responsibility of the United States Congress and, in many instances, the U.S. Supreme Court to enforce the fundamental concept of Equal Protection under Law.

A bit of relatvely recent history is required to understand the United States in 2021. Sadly, the U.S. House of Representatives is no longer an institution of Democracy. In the 2012 federal election, 1.1 million more American voters voted for Democrats meaning the chamber should be under the control of Democrats yet because of corrupt gerrymandering of districts by treasonous politicians, Republicans who did not win the popular vote control the U.S. House of Representatives with a margin of 30+ representatives, meaning the chamber no longer represents the will of the American voters rather the will of a corrupt genocidal plutocracy that is violating the human rights of millions of Americans. The well has been poisoned. Any subsequent federal elections are based off corruption. In 2014, only 37% of voters went to the polls, so not even a majority of American voters elected the wealthy mass human rights violators who comprise much of Congress. For example, a group of 181 members of Congress in 2015 became sponsors of speciously-named legislation that is an act of genocide against gay human beings. Top state and national politicians have admitted to wanting to kill as many gay people as they can and wanting to hide it if possible under the guise of religious liberty. In 2016, a group of 277 House members - led by Rep. Steve Russell (R-Okla.), Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Texas), Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) - voted to legalize discrimination against LGBT Americans - including LGBT military personnel and LGBT federal workers - as well as family and friends of LGBT Americans. The Russell Amendment also permits people to use religion to target people of other religions, genders, races, and ethnicities. Since they voted for discrimination against LGBT people, racial minorities, and religious minorities in the provision of life-saving medical services, the members are guilty of genocide (i.e. deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life, calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part). It is worth noting none of the politicians pushing discrimination mentioned any of the family and friends who have died from human rights violations - not a single word about the LGBT kids who have died.

It is appalling and inexcusable that the politicians and lobbyists making money off this atrocity are so willing to sacrifice the civil and human rights of tens of millions of Americans, the civil and human rights of families, and even the civil and human rights of their own descendents. Imagine being the descendents of a politician or lobbyist who made money off ensuring your life would be targeted for discrimination by the life-threatening law they enacted? Utterly horrific for any loving parent, aunt, uncle, or grandparent to think about.

The federal elections in 2016 were no less corrupted, including the corrupt leadership of Senate leader Mitch McConnell overseeing the unprecedented failure of the majority Senators on the Judiciary Committee to carry out their constitutional role: Chair Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA), Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), Sen. Michael S. Lee (R-UT), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Sen. David Vitter (R-LA), Sen. David Perdue (R-GA), Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC); unprecedented election interference by the Republican director of the FBI; and the passing of state laws to disenfranchise elderly, student, poor, and African American voters by, for example, reducing the number and operating hours of polling places. Democracy in a constitutional democratic republic could never withstand so many colluding to end it. And the anti-democracy approach of fomenting divisiveness and nationalism by attacking those with minority traits (religious, racial, immigrants, disabled people, LGBTQ people) and by attacking mainstream media for carrying out Freedom of Press is taken from the playbook of an authoritarian Russian dictator who has already destroyed his own democracy a decade earlier and who has absorbed organized crime within Russia into his government (note: in 2018, the current U.S. President who belongs to the same party as the aforementioned senators and profits from personal financial entanglements with Russian corruption has betrayed the country and is systematically attacking U.S. federal employees who have fought Russian organized crime for decades).

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell working for the Russians means he robbed the American people of the rightful Supreme Court nominee of Obama to avoid punishment for treason along with his cohorts. Since the majority Senators on the Judiciary Committee unprecedentedly failed to carry out their constitutional role in 2015-2016 under a twice democratically and popularly elected president, any judicial candidate for the Supreme Court (other than the one originally selected by the former president) is illegitimate by definition - the result of a cabal of partisan senators willfully ignoring their constitutional duty, and not the result of the will of the American people (the majority of whom even now voted for the candidate of the party of the former president, further laying bare the corruption of the senators) - and that makes the United States federal government a failed state - an oligarchy. Any confirmations for any judicial post by the Senate are now corrupt. Note: a failed state is the outcome of such actions and would be the same outcome regardless of the party affiliation of the involved actors. The majority Senators on the Judiciary Committee confessed to their corruption and 2016 dereliction of duty for self gain and showed their utter hypocrisy when they held a confirmation hearing in 2018 just one month before an election (having proclaimed in 2016 they couldn't hold a hearing a year before an election). In May 2019, Senate leader Mitch McConnell publicly admitted that Senate Republicans willfully and knowingly betrayed the people of the United States in 2016 and that the US Supreme Court is not legitimate as a result of the politicians' betrayal. These politicians take money from foreign governments so it is an act of treason. Days before the 2020 election, Republican Senators confirmed their corruption and hypocrisy. All federal judges appointed by Trump (who twice lost the popular vote and therefore has never represented the will of the American people) are overwhelmingly corrupt and unqualified and were not confirmed by politicians representing the majority of the American populace - making the appointments of these judges among the least democratic and least representative element to ever be inflicted on the USA.

All nonpartisan Americans have been harmed by the massive hypocrisy and corruption of partisan government officials in all three branches of government. In June 2019, five partisan members of the U.S. Supreme Court - following the playbook of some of the most corrupt regimes of failed states on Earth - admitted it was their intention to sustain the corruption and deny Americans their basic constitutional rights, terminating the legitimacy of the U.S. Supreme Court and mutating the USA into an oligarchy rather than a constitutional democratic republic. In 2021, the corrupt U.S. Supreme Court ruled that LGBT children in foster care must be subject to religious groups that preach genocidal harm regarding LGBT children, violating the First Amendment rights of LGBT children not to have government force them to be subject to desert-based religious groups that pronounce them inferior and worthy of execution.

At this point, these corrupt politicians will resort to political theatre in a desparate attempt to keep those experiencing human rights violations engaged in the political process to try to distract from these politicians failing to protect the human rights of millions of people and their families.

Here is a chart to show the condition of the USA in 2021 (updated daily with any changes in national law or state activity):

Percent of USA Population living in State Not Meeting Minimum Requirements of Democracy: 47%* (pending in a few other states)

* if you set aside national government violating human rights and not meeting minimum requirements of democracy. Otherwise it would be 100%.

It is important to note that approximately 267.1 million out of 321 million Americans realize that democracy has ended in much of the USA.

The U.S. President, Vice-President, Secretary of State, all members of the U.S. Senate, all members of the U.S. House of Representatives, and all members of the U.S. Supreme Court have confirmed that it has ended. Not a single one can answer the most fundamental question of all: Equal Protection Under Law is the heart of Democracy and human rights; it prevents numerically larger groups from depriving smaller groups and individuals of their basic rights and freedoms. Why should Americans maintain the Rule of Law under governments that violate the heart of Democracy?

When asked, none of them can explain. In fact, out of 1,000,000+ elected and appointed government officials and employees in the USA (Joint Chiefs of Staff, NSA, CIA, FBI, CDC, FDA, DOD, Governors, Attorneys General, Legislators, etc.) who all draw their paychecks and pensions from the pockets of the American public, precisely zero can answer that most fundamental question. And their inability to explain makes them exceedingly uncomfortable. Obviously no one wants to be caught at the helm, or be one of the crew, of such a proverbial Titanic after it has so blatantly hit the iceberg and is substantially submerged.

Meanwhile, the anti-democracy and anti-human rights environment makes it impossible for tens of millions of Americans to consider their government as meeting the basic requirements of justice and equality, safety and happiness, set forth in international law and in the founding Declaration of Independence. Diplomacy over the last 51 years since Stonewall has failed to end these mass human rights violations. It may seem strange that denying marriage equality to gay human beings was powerful enough of a subject to end democracy in most of the USA; just as providing free speech to people you adamantly dislike requires placing the grander principle over personal feelings to preserve democracy, marriage equality provoked enough disdain to override common sense in many Americans who failed to grasp and internalize the larger ramifications of violating Equal Protection Under Law, the heart of democracy.

Equal Protection Under Law is the foundation of democracy and human rights. It ensures larger groups do not deny smaller groups or individuals equal rights and liberties. Equality is not a popularity contest. Without the fulcrum of Equal Protection Under Law to provide balance, the levers of government, voting, and courts become meaningless, transformed into tools used simply to bash unpopular minorities, while simultaneously ending the credibility necessary for sustaining the rule of law.

Out of all the diverse U.S. politicians questioned from the entire political spectrum, not a single one could offer any explanation or reason why Americans should maintain the Rule of Law under governments violating the heart of democracy itself - Equal Protection Under Law. To verify for yourself this stark reality, ask politicians to explain: Why should Americans maintain the Rule of Law under governments violating the heart of democracy itself - Equal Protection Under Law? It is the most fundamental question of all.

(note: the members of the New York, Washington, Maryland, and California high courts, who devoted hundreds of pages to supporting violations of Equal Protection Under Law and thus ending democracy in their states at the time, could not even muster a single sentence to answer the question. In New York, Washington, and Maryland, the legislative and executive branches and populace have restored what the judicial destroyed.

note: Corrupt, genocidal members on the 6th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals even ruled that you only have to outnumber people you dislike to ignore their rights and harm them; ruled that the U.S. Constitution is meaningless since you only have to outnumber individuals to harm them anytime you like; ruled that Equal Protection is de facto dead, since the corrupt members did not bother to answer the one question they were charged with addressing; and, in a whole new level of corruption, ruled that all citizens should actually ignore and abandon ever using courts under the 6th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to exercise any of your federal constitutional rights or to resolve violations from now on - gutting the rule of law in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee. True to absolute corruption, they ruled the rights of other people to Equal Protection under Law should be put up to a vote by larger groups, but not their own rights put up to a vote by larger groups. It is worth noting that the ruling was written by a former clerk of the late Supreme Court Justice Scalia, whose prejudice against gay human beings and their children is appalling.

note: The Alabama Supreme Court has a long infamous history of taking money to issue specific rulings. The speciously-named state "justices" are elected and have been corrupted by money since the founding of the state 200 years ago. You need only follow the money trail and the groups to which they issue rulings to discover the boundless corruption. The "justices" serve only the people who finance and support their campaigns for office. As a result, the Alabama Supreme Court has never in its entire existence met or even come close to the definition of a fair, impartial, independent judiciary. These "justices" have even committed genocide in 2015 for this blood money.

note: In his dissent against providing Equal Protection, Chief Justice Roberts cited Han Chinese, Aztecs, and Carthaginians as shining examples to maintain discrimination - which is appalling considering these people based their societies upon maintaining the religion-backed, ancient institution of slavery. He even mentions the Bushmen - but fails to mention they were slaves of slavery societies - the same societies that also treated women as property. The Chief Justice proclaims the hoary sanction of antiquity makes it wrong to ever change time-honored institutions of society. What does it say when a Chief Justice praises slavemasters as his moral compass for wanting to maintain discrimination in the 21st century. In his dissent against providing Equal Protection, Justice Alito argued that harming other people in the name of one's own religion is a core characteristic of religion that must be protected - leading one to wonder what type of religion based on harming other people this justice holds as his moral compass. In his dissent against providing Equal Protection, Justice Thomas decided to claim that governments putting people into slavery does not rob those targeted by the government of their human dignity - calling into question whether Justice Thomas has any grasp whatsoever on the concepts of dignity or slavery - which given his own ancestry only adds to the atrocious attempt to justify discrimination against people in the past and people in the present and future.)

In 2021, through the actions of "justices"(1), politicians(2), and/or members of populace(3), these states and the federal government violate Equal Protection Under Law, Basics of Court Systems (Fair, Impartial, Independent), and are not democracies: Alabama(1), Tennessee(1-2-3), Michigan(1-3-2), Idaho(2), Arkansas(2-3-1), Mississippi(2-3), Utah(2-1), Virginia(2), North Carolina(2), Louisiana(2-1), North Dakota(2), Kentucky(2), South Dakota(2), Missouri(2), Texas(2-1), Kansas(2), Oklahoma(2), South Carolina(2), Wisconsin(2), Ohio(2), Nebraska(2), Iowa(2), Florida(2-1), Indiana(2), Wyoming(2), Georgia(2), Arizona(2-1), Alaska(2), Pennsylvania(2), Montana(2),Federal Government(2), plus two states in flux.

It should be noted that historically democracies are prone to crumble or implode so odds already favored democracy ending. For instance, democracy was terminated by gerrymandering in Wisconsin, by legislators disenfranchising voters in direct violation the expressed will of a supermajority of voters in Florida, or by a single party of legislators introducing partisan politics into the judicial selection process in Iowa simply because the non-partisan justices would not bow to the desires of partisan legislators, or Arizona where the state supreme court justices declared civil rights laws covering equal treatment in the public marketplace regarding race, religion, gender, etc. are null and void if they conflict with a merchant's religious beliefs, rendering the rule of law moot in the state. It takes considerable effort to sustain a democracy, and as demonstrated repeatedly in the USA, surprisingly little to end one.

Locate your State Level human rights group. Whether you live in a town or in the countryside, it is crucial to know your State Level group. Many U.S. citizens (26%) live in states that fail to meet even the rudimentary requirements of a simple democracy (i.e. equal protection under law, impartial and independent judiciary, etc.) much less an advanced one (i.e. human rights fulfillment, assisting other regions in creating democracy, etc.). The remaining states are maturing at vastly different rates of development in fulfilling either democracy or human rights recognition. These groups reflect this. A few are focusing on more advanced areas such as spousal rights while most others are working on employment, housing, and other basic elements of nondiscrimination or human rights awareness. In any event, they are leading organizations within the region. Sometimes new groups are formed to address specific areas or to replace old ones when insufficient progress is being made. Get involved to make a difference, to help improve the nation, and to defend the human rights of your family, friends and neighbors.

People sometimes wonder which groups to support with donations, if you had to pick just a few. The answer is simple: select a group or groups you believe in. Study their mission, their involvement, their history, and their approach. There are plenty of groups that address any number of topics so if you have a particular area of interest you can generally find a related group or groups. Also, doublecheck the information because you want your donations to make the greatest impact. Remember that some groups are run completely by volunteers so your donation goes to advancing the mission of the group and not to paid staff. If you donate to a local group, you can see the results firsthand while donating at the state or national level can help carry out state or national advancements.

Select a region: Alabama | Alaska | Arizona | Arkansas | California | Colorado | Connecticut | Delaware | District of Columbia | Florida | Georgia | Hawaii | Idaho | Illinois | Indiana | Iowa | Kansas | Kentucky | Louisiana | Maine | Maryland | Massachusetts | Michigan | Minnesota | Mississippi | Missouri | Montana | Nebraska | Nevada | New Hampshire | New Jersey | New Mexico | New York | North Carolina | North Dakota | Ohio | Oklahoma | Oregon | Pennsylvania | Puerto Rico | Rhode Island | South Carolina | South Dakota | Tennessee | Texas | Utah | Vermont | Virginia | Washington | West Virginia | Wisconsin | Wyoming
